Woolrich Elite Series Men's Pants.

Another thing I also recently bought was two pairs of the Woolrich Elite Pants, from different dealers in different colors (20% off during the recent Summer Sales event). They are now, bar none, my all-time favorite pants and I will be purchasing more in the future, for sure. Here's why: They're tough. And I mean it. HEAVY DUTY pants, these are. I'd also never thought that I'd be able to find another pair of BDU-type pants to rival the comfort of my old, standby Rothco BDUs. I have been pleasantly disabused.
Wearing these pants is like wearing clouds around your waist, due to the elastic sidebands that flex when you do. See below for a summarization of the Pros and Cons....

  • They're tough.
  • They're comfy.
  • They've got plenty of strategically-placed pockets--DEEP pockets that will not empty themselves of your gear when you sit down or bend over.
  • Teflon finish, to prevent (for a time, till the finish washes out) stains from appearing on your brand-new pair of pants.
  • None, so far as I can tell.

SPECS (taken from retailer's website):

The Woolrich Elite Series men’s pant offers long lasting durability, function and comfort. Elite Series pant is made with rugged 8.5 ounce 100% cotton canvas that will stand up to continuous use. The fabric is reactive dyed in order to ensure a superior level of fade resistance. To further enhance durability, the fabric is treated with DuPont Teflon® fabric protector. This offers a breathable, durable barrier that repels both water and oil based spills. Last but not least, the pant is garment-washed for a soft, broken in feel.

You can carry a myriad of items/gear with ten strategically located multi-use pockets, including two hidden back pockets, two cargo pockets and two utility pockets. All critical seams have double-needle stitching and bar-tacking at stress points. The waist band features side elastic panels for all-day comfort and freedom of movement. There is a concealed brass zipper front fly along with a metal tack-button closure for strength and reliability. The reinforced belt loops will accommodate belts up to 2 inches wide.

3) Front Pockets (2)

Price: I got mine for 20% off during the Summer Sales event, so I saved some moolah. But, you can still find them for about 45.00-50.00, depending on where you get them.

Rotring Newton 600 Series Ballpoint Pen Review.

A few weeks ago I bought a Rotring pen (old model) at about 60-70% off the retail price from an Ebay seller.
It arrived at my college addy on time and was waiting on me when I got back.
I've given it about a week (I normally give each piece of gear I buy about a week at minimum before doing a review).
I've used it for taking notes in classes.
I've used it to write grocery lists.
I've used it.
And I must say; I've never had a pen quite like it.
The Old style of Rotring pens had checkered finger grips, which evidently were too hard on the soft fingertips of business executives everywhere, so the Rotring company (located in Germany) gave it another try with this pen design (smooth grips).

  • Hefty but not excessively thick.
  • Writes smoothly with included ballpoint insert or Parker brand standard pen refills.
  • Graceful lines and characteristic "Red Ring" ("Rotring" means "red ring" in German) mark this as a real Rotring pen, making it a good choice for the traveling businessman who wants to make a good impression on co-workers and higher-ups.
  • "New" style of smooth-sided, round grips tends to slide in my hand rather than providing the grippiness that the "Old" style of Rotrings would have (with their knurled grips).

SPECS: Milled brass barrel, steel fittings and red plastic ring. Heavy-duty clip. Accepts standard Parker Ballpoint Pen Refills.

Manufacturer's Website:
Price: I got mine for roughly 30.00; MSRP on a Newton 600 Series pen is much higher.
Berserker's Overall Rating: 4.5 Stars out of 5. You can't get much better than this!
